Ceramics at Artworks

Ceramics Coffee Morning, Monday 4th October, 10-12

Are you interested in taking part in ceramics courses and workshops at Artworks? We’d love to chat to you about our future ceramics plans, and introduce you to our new ceramics tutor, Matt Cameron. Join us for a free, informal coffee morning on Monday 4th October from 10am. Please bring along one or two pieces of pottery to share with the group (these may be pieces you have made or acquired.)

Meet Matt

Hailing from the sticks in N. Ireland, Matt lives and works in the glorious Calder Valley - he likes to think he's well on his way to becoming an honorary Yorkshire man. After graduating from Bretton Hall/Leeds University in 2006 with a BA (Hons) in Fine Art, Matt's studio practice has grown and developed over the years and he has experience in drawing, painting, photography and design. Recently Matt has returned to his roots in the three-dimensional world of ceramics.

Primarily a 'thrower' Matt is passionate about functional pottery - accessible art you can use in the everyday. With influences in Celtic pottery and focussing on earthy shapes, textures and colours, Matt strives for elegant and simple forms that feel as good to use as they do to behold.
