What are the boxes of wellbeing?

Together with artists and communities we’re have created 8 boxes, full of creative wellbeing activities that can be loaned and exchanged between people and community groups in Calderdale.

Each box contains everything needed for both individuals and groups to improve their wellbeing through art. Clear step-by-step instructions, sustainable materials and specialist equipment required to complete a creative wellbeing activity, as well as tailored signposting are included in each box. 

Group Wellbeing Box

Our Group Box is specially crafted for businesses, schools, organizations, and other community groups in Calderdale. This box is filled with a variety of creative activities designed to enhance collective wellbeing through art. Each activity is carefully selected to encourage collaboration, foster a sense of community, and promote mental wellness among participants. Whether you're looking to build team spirit, support mental health, or simply inject some creativity into your group, our Group Box offers an engaging and enriching experience for all involved.

Individual Wellbeing Box

The Individual Box is designed to support personal wellbeing through creative activities. Tailored for all ages, this box provides a range of art-based exercises that individuals can engage with at their own pace. Perfect for moments of solitude, self-care, or personal growth, the activities within this box aim to inspire creativity, reduce stress, and improve overall mental health. Whether you're seeking a therapeutic break or a fun creative outlet, the Individual Box offers a perfect blend of art and wellness to enrich your everyday life.

You don’t need any prior experience in art as there are clear instruction cards and booklets within each of the boxes for you to work through.

The Starting Well boxes are aimed at children aged 0-5 years and the grow ups that care for them.

These boxes will spark imagination, build confidence and enable creative expression through free play, creative activities and material discovery.  

Designed to be used at home, in community or nursery settings.

A chance for secondary age children (11-16) to experience a range of creative wellbeing activities that develop practical skills, confidence and wellbeing.

These boxes support young people to build their hopes and aspirations, to become active participants in their communities and to look forward to their future.

Designed to be used in and out of school settings.

An opportunity for working age people to learn new skills and develop ideas through accessible, inclusive and dynamic creative wellbeing activities.

Access creativity alongside everyday life, whether at work, in the community or at home.


Age-friendly activities provide opportunities for life-long learning and connection to others for use in community venues and residential homes.

Designed for people over 75 to support renewed purpose through the material interaction and the discovery of new creative talents.


To loan a box please use the booking form below

Loan a box information:

  • Collect and return box to Everybody Arts, Shaw Lodge Mills, Shaw Lane, Halifax, HX3 9ET

  • Return box to Everybody Arts 7 days after loaning the box between 9:00 - 5:00pm

  • Transportation will be needed, however please contact us if you have transportation issues.

Box loan Agreement

Care and Respect: I will treat the box, materials, and resources with care and respect, ensuring they remain in good condition for future users.

Damage Responsibility: I will make good or compensate for any damages that occur while the box is in my possession.

Timely Return: I will return the box and all its contents by the agreed-upon date to ensure availability for others.

Personal Use Only: I will use the box and its contents solely for personal wellbeing purposes and will not redistribute or misuse any of the materials provided.
