#TogetherWithRefugees

It’s Valentine’s Day and this year we’re showing some love and solidarity to refugees and asylum seekers by supporting the ‘Make this Valentine’s Day count’ campaign led by City of Sanctuary UK.

Art is a powerful tool and we want to use it to welcome people seeking sanctuary and lend our voice to advocate for people fleeing violence and persecution. We invited our fantastic creative community to get involved and they delivered, creating these beautiful hearts in support of the campaign.

Artworks is known as the ‘The Everybody School of Art’ due to its ethos of being open to all regardless of a person’s age, background or ability. We work with partners across Calderdale and beyond to enable those seeking sanctuary to engage with art and join a creative community.

We’re also a proud member of Valley of Sanctuary, a group working to make Calderdale a place of safety for refugees seeking sanctuary from war and persecution.
