Drop-in to see the work of artist Sarah O’Boyle and help to make a community artwork

This event is part of a series of micro residencies in The Everybody Gallery, with a range of artists working with us over the coming months. Check out this page for more information.

About the Project

Across two weeks of experimentation and innovation, Sarah O’Boyle will be developing a range of works based around natural and organic forms. Building on the rhythm and self regulation of daily practice, the residency will be Sarah’s time to realise large-scale drawings and innovations. With an emphasis on the creation of multiples and abstract forms, Sarah will be exploring the potentials of both process and outcome within her practice.

About the Artist

Sarah O’Boyle graduated with a degree in Woven Textiles from Glasgow School of Art in 1998. After spending 15 years working in both primary and secondary schools, she has established a base in Halifax as an artist, textiles designer and artist educator. She has a passion for both academic and therapeutic drawing processes and loves to use a variety of natural, recycled and manmade fibres to create 2D and 3D woven pieces inspired by nature, science and traditional textile techniques.

Sarah’s experimental approach to creativity has led to extensive delivery within both educational and community settings including Everybody Arts, Halifax, and as a Creative Practitioner for the NHS. Her educational work offers inspiration to children, families and adults of all ages and backgrounds, with a special interest in ensuring that art for health and wellbeing is at the core of every area of her practice.
