Your poster could be displayed in shops, schools, businesses, and more across Calderdale – and you’ll help spread the word about how to choose the right care for your health needs!

Visit the Craft & Canvas shop (3 Carlton Street, Hebden Bridge, HX7 8ER) or website here.

Deadline: Tuesday 7th January at 4.30pm

Below you will find more information regarding the brief, and some FAQs. Feel free to get in touch via Info@everybodyarts.org.uk or 01422 346900.

How does it work?

  • You can find the details you need to create your poster below.

  • You’ll use the information to create a fun, visual poster about winter health.

  • The winner’s poster will be printed and displayed around the community (500 copies or more!).

  • The winning poster will help others in Calderdale choose the best care when they’re feeling unwell – whether it’s visiting a pharmacist, talking to VITA Minds for mental health support, or knowing when to go to A&E.

  • The winner will also receive a voucher for Craft & Canvas Art Supplies via email or post.

Why are we doing a poster competition?

Winter is tough on the NHS, and we need everyone’s help to make sure people are choosing the right care for their health. We want to make sure people in Calderdale know where to go when they feel sick – whether it’s visiting a community pharmacy, reaching out for mental health support, or getting emergency care when it’s really needed.

By getting involved, you’ll be helping to reduce pressure on GPs and A&E, and making sure everyone gets the care they need.

What are the main aims?

  1. Raise awareness amongst Young Adults (17 - 25), and Kids & Teens (0-16) of the advice and services offered by local community pharmacies.

  2. Promote access to talking therapies provided by VITA Minds on behalf of the NHS in Calderdale.

  3. Encouraging their use and in turn demand away from GP practices and A&E for minor health concerns.

What Are We Looking For?

A fun, creative design that will catch people’s attention. Your artwork should be A4 size and can include any visuals that you feel relate to health and well-being during the winter season. Be bold and creative- we are happy to receive submissions on any art style from mixed media collages, hand-drawn illustrations or digital design. Go where the wind takes you!

Once I’ve created my poster, what do I do with it?

Send it to us! You can email a scanned copy of your poster to Info@everybodyarts.org.uk with the subject line ‘Poster Competition Application’

Alternatively, you can post your poster to us at Everybody Arts, Shaw Lodge Mills, Shaw Lane, HX3 9ET or drop it off in person.

Don’t forget to attach your Name, Age and contact details so we can be in touch if you win the competition!

(If you do choose to email a copy to us, please make sure it's sent as a high quality scan)

Remember the deadline is Tuesday 7th January, but if you have any questions before that, please get in touch.
