SmART Rugby Summer Project

We’ve been finding out what happens when you combine paint and rugby!

Over the Summer Halifax Opportunities Trust, Halifax Panthers, artist Puy Soden and Artworks-The Everybody School of Art have all got together to enable young people to enjoy a really special and exciting art-making experience.

Puy's workshops always focus on the materials and the activity rather than the final product, so people of all ages can immerse themselves in a truly creative process. This fun and ambitious project with Halifax Panthers has combined painting with rugby, mixed art materials with sport-action, and connected experimental mark-making with whole-body movement.

We’re planning an event where people can come and get an insight into the children’s experience of trusting the process, working together as an artistic team, and exploring how the materials, tools and methods come together.
