Get creative with our Winter workshops
We’re really excited to bring you a jam-packed programme of creative workshops to take you through November and December. Our workshops are one-off sessions (unless otherwise stated) that give you the perfect chance to try out something new - or further develop your skills in something you love.
All levels and abilities are welcome - you don’t need to have done any art before. All materials are provided too.
You’ll find lots of sessions available for adults, including lots of new workshops for this term. Plant and Print is one of our new sessions. You’ll pot up a new plant friend to keep and create your own nature-inspired prints. We’ve also got workshops specifically designed for children and young people, including our popular Saturday Art Club.
Of course, we couldn’t not mention our festive workshops! Make your own unique greetings card with our Letterpress Cards sessions or create a wreath with a difference at our Copper Wreath Making workshop. Join us a for unique day course and explore the creative potential of life drawing with a seasonal theme. Explore new ways of drawing the figure within, alongside and as a part of nature, as we draw from ’From The Folde’ by artist Fiona Pickles. Produced especially for Everybody Arts by artist Jo Blaker in response to Fiona's exhibition, we hope this one off drawing opportunity is one you will not want to miss!
In this course we will explore the season, its cycles and phenomena influencing all the aspects of the life drawing experience. We will look at how we might express winter through our materials, viewpoints, mark making and the expressions or poses adopted by the model. Expect playful, exciting drawing challenges that take you out of your comfort zone pushing your work in unexpected directions. You will be guided through short, stimulating exercises leading to longer poses for more self-directed drawing.
The length of this session ensures time to share, discuss and into the experience. The focus of this session is upon stimulating our creativity & expression as artists. As such, each artist has freedom within our exercises to make them their own.
Who is the course for?
This course is for confident life drawers or those who feel that regular life drawing classes aren’t quite right for them.
Whilst your tutor can offer advice regards proportion, measuring etc this course is not focused on these formal elements of drawing the figure. If regular life drawing classes don’t feel right for you, you might enjoy the freedom to experiment that previous participants tell us they especially enjoy about these sessions.

There's something about winter's stripped back simplicity that can allow us to see things more clearly. There's no pretence - winter reveals fully what's there and things that were hidden become visible.
Join us for a morning of creativity and calm contemplation as we connect with nature and take time to appreciate the quiet, unassuming beauty of winter botanicals.
Enjoy a moment to pause and escape the noise, to slow down and truly observe.
There is no expectation to make something in a certain way or stick to a formula, the session is all about finding the beauty in the everyday and appreciating how working alongside nature makes us feel, how it can connect us, enable perspective and provide a moment of calm and solace.
There will be the opportunity to create a very free ‘flat lay’ style or hand tied arrangement and of course you are welcome to take home any flowers, stems or foliage that you have selected to use.
Be open to the gifts of winter and invite in the calmness, clarity and inner connection it offers.
Who is the workshop for?
This workshop is for anyone above the age of 16, looking for a relaxed and creative session focussing on nature. No previous experience is required.
