Call out for artists to deliver on new pilot project in hospitals

Creative Minds and Artworks are working in partnership to deliver a new pilot project; Creative Practitioners that brings artists into hospitals to work directly with service users and staff.

We are looking for a range of artists to deliver on this project in the new role of NHS Creative Practitioner. 

The Creative Practitioners will work with the ward teams on South West Yorkshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust inpatient units at Fieldhead Hospital Wakefield, The Poplars in Pontefract, Kendray Hospital Barnsley, Calderdale Royal Infirmary and Dewsbury & District Hospital, for patients experiencing mental ill health. 

The role is similar to an ‘artist in residence’ with the aim of the pilot being that the creative practitioners become part of the fabric of the wards through weekly delivery, offering participatory engaging activities on a consistent basis in a flexible and responsive way, to improve the wellbeing for both service users and staff.
