Opportunity Overview

Job Title: Artist Educator

Location: Artworks, The Everybody School of Art, Halifax and other venues in the Calderdale / West Yorkshire area

Type: Various freelance hourly paid contracts

Salary: £200 per day /  £25 per hour delivery / £10 per hour planning

Start Date: Various dates over the next year

Duration: Various, ranging from one off workshops to longer courses and projects

Closing date: Friday 02 April 2021,  5pm

Artworks, The Everybody School of Art is a not for profit, artist led, community arts organisation in Halifax, West Yorkshire. We provide opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to develop their artistic skills and exercise their creative potential in order to achieve positive change for people and communities. Our work takes place in a variety of locations, from our art school with letterpress, printmaking and ceramics facilities; in our exhibition space and artist studios; out in the community and now online.

Role Description: 

We are looking to recruit a range of experienced artist educators based in, or willing to travel to, the Calderdale and West Yorkshire area to join our learning and engagement team. 

We are looking for artist educators with experience delivering engaging and imaginative courses, workshops, projects or activities that share discipline specific knowledge in creative and accessible ways. Our programmes incorporate a wide range of visual art, design and craft disciplines and we are therefore interested in hearing from a variety of practitioners. 

We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have experience working in health, social care and education contexts as well as practitioners who have experience working with any of the following; children and young people; people with special educational needs; people with lived experience of mental ill health.
