Esther Tait
Esther is a Textile Practitioner and Multidisciplinary Maker and her practice is formed by combining different techniques and processes from a wide variety of crafts and disciplines. In other words … she likes to do a bit of everything! Her first love was textiles and she always comes back to her textile roots but loves to explore storytelling and illustration. Her favourite drawing techniques are continuous line doodles and mixed media collage but has recently enjoyed going back to basics and exploring some more traditional drawing and painting techniques to enhance and build upon her usual ‘experimental’ style. Where possible she uses 2nd hand, reused and sustainable materials and resources to minimise waste and thinks the challenge can be more fun that way!
Esther graduated from The University of Huddersfield in 2018 with a BA Hons in Textiles and has been teaching and facilitating creative classes and workshops in a variety of settings since then.
When she’s not teaching or in the studio, she enjoys gardening, growing vegetables and hanging out with her dog, Ruby.
