Micro Residencies in The Everybody Gallery

Closing date: Monday 17th June

Are you an artist or creative looking for time and space to test out an idea and make new work? To celebrate Everybody Arts becoming a charity, we are delighted to present 10 micro residencies for visual artists in The Everybody Gallery. These micro residencies are a rare opportunity for artists to have access to a large and flexible space to test out new ideas, develop existing work or see the realisation of a project.

Taking place from August to October 2024, each residency is for a period of one week at the subsidised cost of £50 (we will also consider applications for multiple weeks).

Artists underserved by the cultural sector are encouraged to apply for this opportunity including artists who identify as disabled, neurodiverse, female, artists from ethnic minority groups, and artists from a lower socioeconomic background.

To apply read our guidance and send your application materials to gallery@everybodyarts.org.uk.

FAQs

  • All applications must be received by Monday 17 June. We will then review all applications, and get back to you as soon as possible. If awarded a residency, you will need to read and agree to our residencies agreement and associated policies. You will need to supply a DBS check (if relevant), a risk assessment for activities, a copy of your insurance and marketing materials, and pay required fees 3 weeks before the date of your residency or it will be offered to another artist.

  • The low cost of this residency means that it does not include the cost of heating, but this can be arranged for an extra fee.

  • As part of your residency, you have the opportunity to make use of our other facilities, including the ceramics and printmaking studios. Please note that these will incur additional fees, and will require an induction.

  • The gallery will be available to you during our normal opening hours Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm. Access at other times can be arranged by prior agreement, but may incurr additional fees.

Volunteering at artworks

Everybody Arts is a dynamic environment where lots of different activities take place. We have a range of volunteering opportunities and ways that people can get involved across our projects, programmes and spaces. These include:

  • Learning Volunteers, supporting our courses, workshops and projects, particularly those aimed at young people.

  • Space Volunteers, helping us to look after our spaces, participating in clean up days and general maintenance tasks.

  • Gallery Volunteers, assisting with set-up and de-stall of exhibitions and/or invigilating our exhibitions.

We are always interested to hear of ways people would like to get involved- if you have other areas you are interested in, please let us know!

If you are interested in helping Artworks, please fill out the form below and a member of our team will get in touch.
